Grooming
While The Feline Hospital does not offer grooming as a standalone services and does not have a professional groomer on staff, we understand that the day may come when your cat needs a touch-up to get back to feeling his or her best. That is why The Feline Hospital is happy to offer a limited menu of therapeutic (not cosmetic*) grooming services.
Some of the grooming services that we offer include:
- Nail trims
- Sanitary shaves (shaves specifically around your cat’s groin and hind end to help alleviate any discomfort or health issues in cats that have difficulty keeping these areas clean – often especially helpful in older cats, cats with longer hair, obese cats, and cats with mobility issues)
- Belly shaves (a shave of the belly, chest, and groin of your cat designed to help keep your cat cool, comfortable, and mat-free in areas where fur tends to mat easily)
- Lion cuts (to help keep your feline friend looking “fierce,” a lion cut is a shave of the entire body with the exception of the fur around the head and on the tail. Lion cuts are a common way to help alleviate matting in cats that tend to mat all over and cats with very long hair that can be difficult to maintain at home.)
Grooming services at The Feline Hospital are limited to established patients of The Feline Hospital, and are particularly useful for cats for which traditional grooming is not an option. This may include cats that become overly stressed in a traditional grooming environment and cats that require sedation to have grooming services performed.
